Educational Visits UK

ISSUE 1 | MARCH 2009

Soaring High Above the Glittering Portsmouth Harbour….

Spinnaker Tower

The Spinnaker Tower is the UK's tallest publicly accessible tower outside of London and boasts Europe's largest glass floor. With breath-taking 350º panoramic views of the area, it has already gained a reputation for being one of the UK's premier visitor attractions.

Offering a unique experience for your students and with a whole host of cross curricular links, the Spinnaker Tower makes a great educational day out and is an exceptionally inspiring educational tool.

Students can wonder at the incredible engineering feat that created the giant structure, learn about the ever changing coastline 100m below their feet, develop their understanding of Portsmouth’s colourful naval history and be inspired to write creative poetry or paint harbour landscapes of the incredible views.

The Spinnaker Tower has learning resources to cover every aspect of your related learning including pre, during and post visit activities for students to complete.  Resources are currently available for Key Stages 1 to 3 in subjects such as Geography, English, Science, Food Technology and Art.  Plus we are currently in the process of producing a Leisure/Travel and Tourism Education Resource Pack aimed at Key Stages 4/5 for release in June 2009.

If that isn’t enough to persuade you to visit, education groups also benefit from the following; discounted admission rates, FREE adult with every 10 paying children/students; 'fast-track' admission; FREE downloadable educational resources and risk assessments; discounted pre-bookable audio guides and guide books; and more.

For more information or to make your educational visit today contact 02392 857520, visit www.spinnakertower.co.uk, or email education@spinnakertower.co.uk.
