Discounts & Developments at Carlton Lodge |

Since we put our entry into the 2009 Educational Visits Guide it has been an exciting time at Carlton Lodge. We have made progress in developing new activities and improving our infrastructure. North Yorkshire County Council provided a grant that has enabled us to produce a new jetty for the lake that is designed to enable wheel chair access and allow us to operate our canoeing and kayaking sessions a lot better.
With a grant from the Environment Agency we have had 4 disabled fishing platforms built and in addition we are preparing other pegs to enable 12 people to fish at a time. We offered fishing as an activity for a group that visited on 23 February; 23 young people had the opportunity to have a go, netting 4 Roach. Although this is not a big haul, the numbers caught will increase as the water warms up and as we continue to develop this activity.
We have also started to offer bush craft on site and in the summer will be able to take groups caving in the Yorkshire Dales.
We are opening our site for the Carlton Lodge Fun Day on Saturday 11 April. For more information on this exciting day, visit the events page of this newsletter!
Finally, we are offering discounts in the quiet season for both school and youth groups of more than 24. Check our re-vamped website for further details at www.nyy.org.uk or call us Free phone on 0800 096 2608
