Set in 300 acres of beautiful Somerset countryside, Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm allows its visitors to get close to a wide variety of exciting animals including Rhinos, Gibbons, Zebras and lemurs; you might even see our new baby tapir enjoying a nice cool swim with his parents!
We are very excited about our new arrivals; three Bengal type tigers are due to arrive this Summer. “Tiger Territory” is a spacious 1 acre enclosure comprised of four interlinked outdoor zones containing tiger pools, climbing towers, deep grass and toys to enrich the environment. The tiger house has five dens to house the tigers at night and a unique handling system to make dealing with the tigers stress free for both animals and keepers! Visitors will be able to watch the tigers from the comfort of their own home via webcam which will provide a live and continuous stream of tiger antics from their indoor enclosure.
Included in the entry price, the ever popular Animal Show aims to educate the next generation about sustainable farming and the produce provided by farm animals; children also get a chance to bottle feed this year’s crop of extremely friendly lambs!
An educational tractor ride around the farm provides the opportunity to learn about crop farming.
Visiting school groups can choose from a well established programme of hands-on Key stage 1 and 2 workshops which expand on core curriculum material and allow the children to explore the amazing diversity of the animal Kingdom face to face.
Following the success of the KS1 and KS2 workshops, the education department at Noah’s Ark has recently developed a programme of workshops aimed at secondary school and A-level students. Groups will study topics such as animal behaviour, animal learning, animal welfare and conservation using a mixture of presentation, discussion and hands-on investigation.
With the installation of our own wind turbine which generates a third of the zoo’s electricity, we now offer a green workshop for school groups of any age which looks at the importance of caring for our planet responsibly.
