Bancroft Cruisers is a family run business with two passenger boats, with capacity of up to 56 children and teachers on each of the boats. We run cruises from the rear of the Holiday Inn in Stratford upon Avon, from half an hour upwards, taking in the local sights, including 15 century Clopton Bridge, the 19th century Tramway Bridge, the Bancroft Gardens, Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and Holy Trinity Church, (the site of Shakespeare's tomb). We turn around there and go back upstream past the water meadows and large houses into a more rural area, and turn around just by the Old Bathing Place and return to our landing stage.
There is a wealth of wildlife to be seen, including herons, kingfishers, swans, geese, waterfowl of many types, fish, dragonflies, damselflies, as well as water rats (if you are lucky). Our crew member will point out places of interest along the way and answer any questions that the children may have. It is interesting to see Stratford from a different perspective, and also relaxing for the children and teachers.
Our new boat 'The Rita Ellen' is DDA compliant with a wheelchair lift and disabled facilities.
Bancroft Cruisers is pleased to welcome students and children for an educational and fun cruise on the River at Stratford upon Avon. Telephone 01789 269669.
